How to Create a Ticket in Jira
IT Services Space — Quick Guide for All Staff

Hi everyone,

This short guide shows you how to submit a request to the IT team by creating a ticket in the IT Services space in Jira. Following these steps helps IT understand your request quickly and respond faster.

Open the IT Services board →
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Open the IT Services board, then click the blue + Create button at the top of the screen.
2. A window titled Create Request opens.
3. Check Space is set to IT Services (ITS).
4. Leave Work type as Request.
5. Leave Status as Open (set automatically).
6. Type a clear Summary (a short title). Required.
7. Add a Description of your issue or request.
8. (Optional) Fill any extra fields that are useful — e.g. Attachment, Priority, or Due date. You can leave the rest as they are.
9. Click the blue Create button to submit.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
Wrong space — always check Space shows IT Services (ITS).
Vague summary — avoid "Help" or "Problem." Be specific.
Empty description — IT needs context to help you.
Forgetting to submit — the ticket is created only after you click Create.
